Can some one please explain the process of selling a car on Ebay to me?

Kris Otuafi: It costs nothing to list the ad. You only pay IF your car sells. The fee then is $125 + optional listing services such as reserved auction fee ($7). You can run either a no-reserve or reserved auction. No-reserve means you must sell to the highest bidder no matter what the price is. Reserve means you don't have to sell it unless your price is met. No Reserve auctions usually get the most bids because they know whoever bids the highest wins. Reserve auctions don't get as many bids cause they know they can't win unless your hidden price is reached so most don't bother. You can state in your ad that you will only sell locally. I've sold on eBay also and it wasn't a hassle whatsoever. The winner happened to live within a few miles of my house so I even delivered it. They took it for a spin for 5 mins and liked it... and paid cash and I handed them the title. I actually got $1000 more than I had advertised on Craigslist. That was about it. Very simple....Show more

Carli Watterson: Therein lies the problem with selling merchandise, like cars, that are much too large to easily and cheaply convey / ship to the buyer. Here is what I would suggest:You can list it as LOCAL - PICK-UP ONLY at eBay. If it sells, you will pay fees. You list it FREE at Craigslist and pay NO fees if it sells. This will also be a LOCAL - PICK UP ONLY sale. Craigslist is basically a classified in your local, general geographic area, akin to your local newspaper’s classifieds, except you will add pictures at Craigslist. You could also list the car in the newspaper classifieds. Yes, there are people who still read newspapers. This is the niche that Craigslist fills: larger and/or heavier items that are cumbersome to easily and inexpensively ship like furniture, weights/dumbbell sets, cars, swing sets, bicycles, dog houses, etc. If you have small items that can be easily packaged and shipped cheaply, sell / ship them EBAY WORLDWIDE, not just the USA.smalle! r, lighter merchandise = eBay AND PAY FEESBIG and / or HEAVY T! HINGS = CRAIGSLIST -FREE - NO FEES when listing or if the item sells.FOR LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY - it's CRAIGSLIST (and possibly your local paper's classifieds)GOOD LUCK!!...Show more

Barrett Alosa: local listings are displayed on e-bay and the buyer is responsible for the pick-up ( you state that in your advertisement ) the ad is cheap and the results are good if you have what someone else wants to buy.. tell us the brand of the car, year model... and the state you live in at...
