Home schooling for Middle School/High School?

Phillip Modafferi: I used to be in your exact situation when I moved across the state 5 years ago. I come-off as an awkward, shy person and I also think I'm very unattrative. But anyways, I was all alone in a new high school didn't know anyone. I was alone for a couple of my first days, but then a few people befriended me and are now some of my best friends! Stay true to yourself, you'll make many friends! ;) Good luck

Jeff Frizzell: Well firstly congrats on the good GPAI am home schooled and I have no problem with my social skills as long as you still interact with the outside world you are fine and if they do in fact prove to be a problem get a job and you will be fineHomeschooling is actually a legitimate form of schooling you can get into college with it its not BS although it is true not every parent can do it ..they have to be disciplined or else you will get to far behind or not learn a thing it is definitely not illegal it is actually gaining popularity it is! actually even possible to get a scholarship while being home schooledpeople say it is so bad because you are at home while all your friend and people your age are at school but there is an upside I mean their school takes 7ish hours your will only take 3you do not have to be a certain age..well I mean you have to be old enough to go to school but other then that..it doesn't matter...Show more

Sabra Roers: Where do you live? Laws are different in different states and countries. Socializing just means that you know how to conduct yourself and live around people. School socialization is political. http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/zysk1.html and http://www.spinninglobe.net/againstschool.htmColleges require good SAT scores. Check with the admissions of a college or two you are interested in. When I did, I was surprised! They love homeschooled kids! Is there a community college near you? You can take classes for dual credit (that means college and high school) Here! are some websites to look at: ...Show more

Lou Rought: ! I think some people say it's bad because they just don't understand the benefits and opportunities that homeschooling gives to families. My kids have excellent social skills because we interact with a wide variety of people. You will not lose your social skills. You will be able to graduate and many colleges actively recruit homeschool students because many homeschool students are independent learners and adjust well to college. Some of the online schools offer honors and AP classes so you could maintain and even increase your GPA.Best of Luck!Janahttp://www.purehomeschooling.com/...Show more

Rosalba Lingner: you can graduate, you can go to college, some colleges actually prefer homeschoolers. people say you lose your social skills becuase your not around 20-30 other students per class. Its not that bad im in it and i have tons of friends...its far from illegal however you need to check your state laws as each are different. and your parents can but once again it depend! s on your state laws....i do a correspondence program & they send me my books and stuff and i take test so i basically teach myself. I like it. anything else you want to know send me a message on YIM x_x_x_m_i_n_o_x_x_xalso anyone can be homeschooled....http://www.jmhs.com its for highschool & its the program i use...Show more

Vickie Clampett: People usually say it's bad because you may not do your work or get lazy, something like that. Your parents can homeschool you unless they have a lisence to be able to. Home-Schooling is for all ages. No, it's not illegal. You don't really lose social skills, it's harder to make friends since you are cooped up in your home all the time, unless you have a job or go out often. You can still graduate. you'll recieve the diploma in the mail instead of walking with your class. I took an online school for about 5 months and I didn't do very well, since I began to get lazy and held my work off. And online school was really hard for me! , I had to write tons of essays and do very difficult stuff, but it may! be more easier for you. Hope you got all your questions answered, best of luck :]...Show more
