Sammie Bocanegra: I have went to the pine forests around my home to get some of that first cpl inches of soil.that soil is full of decomposing leaves needles etc its great!Thats how forests grow, with their own they make their own organic matter.look it up-lots of sites tell you how to mix it with garden soil.I take it and put into my compost and mix well with manure kitchen scraps and then in a month or two mix in well with the garden soil.As long as your not digging up the trees or disturbing the environment I see no reason not to .I sure would here a site thats very informative about the use of pinetree soil and the myth that its not good to many ppl http://www.gardenguides.com/130318-pine-trees-acid......Show more
Corey Rohleder: It will be o.k. to use the soil. But what kind of trees grow there? If you have only pine, you will not have many nutrients in the soil.
Elsie Resner: If it's a conservation area, you should leave the soils alone. As for soil type f! or your plants, it really depends on what species you want to plant. Are you planting in the soil around your house or are you planting in pots? If you are planting directly in the soil around your house, then you will need to be a bit more careful on what you plant. Like animals, plants have specific environmental conditions that they need to grow and flourish and this differs between species. Your best bet would be to talk to your local nurserymen, they can tell you what species to plant depending on the conditions in which you live. Do not take anything from the conservation area, that area is for wildlife and plant life, not for human destruction....Show more
Sunshine Holets: It depends on the kinds of plant you want to grow. Some plants need more nutrient soils others not so much. But if you really want to know you could research the plants to figure out if they need more nutrients or not. I hope this helped you C: . I would have just thrown my plants in any soil! depending if they are hardy or not, but thats not the best th! ing to do. So the best thing is to research if your plants need nutrients or not. Hopes this was helpful :D
